
COMPOUNDING PHARMACY CLEANROOM CONTAMINATION CONTROL
STEP 1: CONTROLLING WHAT ENTERS THE ENVIRONMENT
This stage involves activities to prevent contaminants from entering the cleanroom area carried by people or supplies. Personnel entering the cleanroom need to follow a process of garbing and hand hygiene to limit contaminants, and the supplies that enter the room have to be handled in a way that reduces the potential for contamination.
HAND HYGIENE
A full-line of soaps for effective hand washing and a waterless surgical scrub for use as called for in USP <797>. Sterile alcohol for periodic decontamination of gloves during compounding.
